TransCore is implementing dynamically priced tolling along the I-66 corridor inside of Washington, D.C.’s Capital Beltway and along the I-64 corridor in the Hampton Roads area.
TransCore has designed, built, and maintained electronic toll collection systems across the state for VDOT since 1996, including the George P. Coleman Bridge, the Powhite Parkway, and the Dulles Toll Road. Over the years, TransCore has upgraded these systems to include violation enforcement and digital video audit systems along with our latest Infinity Host solution.
In 2016, VDOT selected TransCore to implement dynamic pricing toll technology along the I-66 corridor inside of Washington, D.C.’s Capital Beltway. The milestone project represents the first instance in the United States where volume-based dynamic pricing will be utilized along an entire roadway corridor to manage growing traffic congestion during peak travel periods. In 2017, VDOT selected TransCore again to implement its first dynamically priced express lanes in the Hampton Roads area along the I-64 corridor.
